Organizations (called accounts in some CRMs) are the companies you work with. Contacts belong to an organization, and deals, tickets and projects can all be linked to one.
Why organizations matter
An organization’s page brings everything about a customer together:
- Its contacts
- Its opportunities
- Its tickets
- Its quotes and invoices
- Every activity with anyone there
That complete view is one of the most useful things the CRM gives you.
Creating an organization
- 1Click Organizations in the sidebar.
- 2Click Add Organization.
- 3Fill in the key fields:
- Organization name (required)
- Phone and website
- Billing address
- Industry, employees and annual revenue — to help you prioritise
- Assigned To — the account owner
- 4Click Save.
The organization’s page
| Part | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Details | Name, phone, website, industry, size, revenue and addresses. |
| Contacts | Everyone who works there. |
| Opportunities | All deals with the company. |
| Tickets | All their support requests. |
| Activities | Calls, meetings and tasks. |
| Documents | Contracts, proposals and other files. |
| Quotes and invoices | Their financial documents. |
Parent companies
To show a group structure, link a subsidiary to its parent with the Member Of field.
Tip:Create the organization first, then its contacts. Your data stays clean and the organization’s page shows the full picture.
