Documents

Store files next to the records they belong to, preview and share them.

Documents is Omnir’s file storage. Keep contracts, proposals, presentations and product sheets here, linked to the customers and deals they belong to.

Adding a document

The quickest way is from the record itself: open a contact, organization or opportunity and drag the file onto its Documents panel. The file is stored and linked in one step.

In the Documents folder view, open a folder and click Upload ▸ Upload files (or drag files onto it): the files are added to that folder straight away. To fill in the details as you upload:

  1. 1
    Click Documents in the sidebar.
  2. 2
Click New Document ▸ File Upload.
  3. 3
    Fill in:
    • File — drag it in or click Select File from my Computer
    • Title — filled in from the file name; change it if you like
    • Folder Name — for example Contracts or Proposals
  4. 4
    Click Save.

Finding documents

  • In Documents: browse the folders, or search by title.
  • From a record: open a contact, organization or opportunity and look at its documents.

Double-click a document in the folder view (or right-click ▸ Open), or choose File Preview from its menu in the list, to preview it in the browser — PDFs, images, Office files and more open without downloading.

Sharing a document

Use Share on a document to create a link for someone outside your company. You can protect it with a password, make it expire, email it straight from Omnir, and turn the link off at any time.

Tip:Always link a document to its record. A contract linked to the organization can be found by anyone on the team from the customer’s page.
Note:If your administrator has connected Google Drive, OneDrive or SharePoint, documents can live in that storage too.
